Search Engine Submission – How It Works

Search Engine Submission is the process by which a webmaster submits a particular website directly to any search engine. this process is looked at by most people as a way to boost the ratings of a site and promote it but it is a concept that some people look at as unnecessary. this is because most of the engines on the internet like Bing, Google and Yahoo have spiders, bots and crawlers which will at some point come across every website on the internet. They do it all by themselves so there is really no need for search engine submission.
The first reason as to why the submission is done would be to add a new result or website to the search engine without having to wait for the engine to eventually discover the site. the second reason why the submission could be done is to ensure that all additions or updates that are made to a website are captured by the engine. the submission ensures that the web site is indeed updated as the engine goes about its duties of crawling the web.
There are two methods by which this submission occurs and one of them is the submission of a single page at a time by a webmaster. the other is submission of the whole site at a single time using the sitemap. in this case, all that the webmaster will have to do is submit the home page of the website and the rest will follow suit automatically. when the home page is provided, most will go on and crawl the entire site as long as it does not give the search engine any problems when crawling.
Since there are very many other websites probably involved in similar operations, there is need to have a good placing in the rankings. this is why many website owners have embarked on trying to improve the ranking of their sites through what is known as Search Engine Optimization. using this procedure, webmasters are able to improve their site placement with their rankings.
